Height 12 inches

The green leaves of this perennial plant have a sour lemony taste and are used in soups, salads, and many ethnic dishes. Once established, it is one of the first plants to appear in early spring and is often considered one of the common spring greens eaten for good health after a long winter along with spinach, dandelion greens and ramps.

SOWING…Plant seeds outdoors after all danger of frost is past, in rich, well-prepared soil. Plant seed very thinly in rows 18 inches apart and cover seed with ¼ inch of soil, well pressed down.

THINNING…Thin to 8 inches apart when plants are 2 inches tall.

GERMINATION…Germinates in 4 to 10 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

REMARKS…Do not allow the plants to exhaust themselves by going to seed. New plants should be started, or the old plants should be divided.
