Tomato Early Choice
Matures in 70 Days From Setting Out Transplants
Indeterminate Plant Habit
Height 5-6 feet
Finally a great taste in an early tomato! The 4 ounce red fruit grows in clusters and has a sugar/acid flavor balance not usually found in early tomatoes. The potato leaved plants offer excellent disease resistance and performs well in both coastal and dry areas.
SOWINGā¦Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost date. Cover seeds with Ā¼ inch of seed starting mix. Keep evenly moist and supply bottom heat to hasten germination (70 to 75 degrees). When plants emerge, supply 10-14 hours of light from direct sun or grow-lights.
THINā¦Or transplant when plants are 3 inches tall into individual pots or 3 inches apart in trays. After danger of frost is past, harden off the plants and transplant each into the garden.
GERMINATIONā¦6-12 days depending on soil temperature and moisture conditions.
REMARKSā¦When transplanting, remove bottom leaves and bury the stem deep into the soil. Those āhairsā will turn into roots and supply the plant with better support. Add tomato cages or support stakes when transplanting into the garden. Prune āsuckersā if desired.
