Radish Crayon Colors Mix
Radish Crayon Colors Mix
28-38 days to maturity
Height 4 to 6 inches
A mixture of primary colors that paints a wonderful palette in your garden. Colors include yellow, pink, red, and purple.
SOWING…Sow seeds as soon as the ground can be worked in spring. Radishes thrive in loose, fertile soil. Plant seeds 1 inch apart and cover with ⅛ inch of fine soil. Replant weekly until the weather becomes warm and plant again in the cool of the fall.
THINNING…Final spacing should be 3 inches apart to allow roots to mature. If you need to thin, be aware that the stem and first leaves may imitate the color of the root; purple roots may have brownish stems, yellow roots may have pale leaves. If you thin the “odd colors”, you may only have red radishes to harvest.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 10 to 20 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS…Radishes become “hotter” when grown in warm weather. Grow in the cool seasons for mild roots. To keep roots from splitting, do not over fertilize, and keep the soil evenly moist.
