An heirloom variety of pumpkin, Jarrahdale pumpkins are named after a town in Western Australia. Average weight is between 6 and 12 pounds. They are grayish- blue in color with bright orange flesh that has a sweet, delicious flavor. Great for use in a variety of recipes.

SOWING... Plant seed outdoors in full sun and in well- draining soil after all danger of frost has passed. Make a group of 3 to 5 seeds placed in a ring about 2 inches across. Cover with 1/2 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Each ring of seeds is called a hill and hills should be spaced 6 to 10 feet apart each way.

THINNING... Thin when plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, leaving the 3 strongest plants in each hill. GERMINATION...Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.

REMARKS... May also be planted in rows 6 to 10 feet apart, spacing plants 2 to 3 feet apart in the row. When mature, cut from vines with pruning shears leaving 3 inches of stem.
