This is the best and most productive variety and is largely grown both for home garden and market. The roots are creamy white and grow 10-12 inches long.
SOWING…Plant seed outdoors as early in the Spring as ground can be worked. Plant in rows 18 inches apart, spacing seed 2-3 inches in a row. Cover seed with ½ inch of soil well pressed down.
THINNING…When plants are 2-3 inches high, thin to 6 inches apart in the row.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 14 to 21 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS…Rich in Vitamins A and B. Parsnips are a very hardy root crop and the flavor will be improved if they are left in the ground through the winter.
