A butterhead type of Bibb lettuce, this variety is heat resistant and slow bolting. A loose headed lettuce of highest quality, similar to Bibb but a larger plant. The leaves are delicious and delicately flavored with a soft, buttery texture.
SOWING…Sow seed outdoors as early as the ground can be worked. Plant in rows 18 inches apart spacing seeds 1 inch apart in the row. Cover seed with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until plants start to grow.
THINNING…When plants are 3 to 4 inches tall, thin to 6 to 10 inches apart.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 7 to 10 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS…As heads develop, cut every other one to allow others to develop. For continuous supply, plant every few weeks throughout the season.Share
