Harvest in 75-80 days

Height 20”

Developed at the University of Massachusetts (and named after the town of Waltham) to withstand the increasing cold of a fall planting and remain tender. Sturdy plants produce one 5-7” primary head and continue to produce large side shoots after the main head has been harvested. Florets are compact, beautiful blue-green on long stems.

SOWING…Direct sow seed ½” deep and 4” apart 7 weeks before the first expected fall frost (late July or early August in the northeast) for a fall harvest.

THINNING…When plants are 6” tall, thin or transplant seedlings to allow mature plants to stand 20” apart.

GERMINATION…7-14 days, depending on soil and weather conditions.

REMARKS…A good spring planted broccoli if started inside 6-8 weeks before transplanting outside in late spring after danger of frost has passed. Heat sensitive.
