Matures in 65 Days

The most popular pole bean of all. Long, round, slightly curved pods are borne in clusters. Stringless and tender when young, the medium green pods are rich in flavor. Can be grown on poles, fences or trellis.

SOWING...Plant seed in late spring when the ground is warm. Do not rush planting of beans as a few cold, wet days at planting time may rot seed. Rough poles about 8 ft. long are often used for vine support. Place poles 3 feet apart each way, place 4 to 6 seeds around each pole. Cover seed with 1 inch of soil well pressed down.

THINNING...When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin, leaving 3 or 4 strongest plants in each hill.

GERMINATION...Germinates in 6 to 10 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.

REMARKS...Pole beans may be grown on a fence or trellis and the seed planted in a row. Thin the young plants to 8 inches apart. For highest quality and yield, pick pods when young, about 4 to 5 inches long.
