Matures in 65 Days
This variety is the most popular baby lima producing an abundance of pods on bush type plants. Lima beans are especially sensitive to cold temperatures. A few cold days at planting time may cause the seed to rot.
SOWING…Plant seed directly in soil outdoors starting in late spring after the ground has warmed and nighttime temps do not dip below 55 degrees. Plant 1 inch deep, 3 to 4 inches apart in rows 2 ½ to 3 feet apart. Cover with ½ inch of fine soil firmly pressed down.
THINNING…When plants are 4 to 6 inches tall, thin, leaving strongest plants 6 to 8 inches apart.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 7 to 12 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS…These beans will germinate best and will be very prolific if you are patient and wait until the soil is warm before planting. Keep free of weeds, especially when the plants are small. For best quality pick pods when young but filled out with beans. Make a second planting in mid-summer for autumn harvest.
