A favorite for more than a century. Heavy producer of sweet, tender pods. Should be picked when quite young and almost flat. Vine height 1 ½ feet produces sweet tender pods.
SOWING…Plant seed outdoors in March whenever weather allows. Plant seed 1 ½ inches apart in rows 2 ½ feet apart. Cover seed with ½ inch of soil, well pressed down.
THINNING…When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin to 3 inches apart.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 10 to 14 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS…This variety can be grown without support. Planting in double rows 6 inches apart will provide additional support where necessary. Make repeated plantings for continuous supply all season, as late as mid-summer.
