An easy-to-grow and attractive annual whose pleasingly aromatic young steam are used for flavoring soups and sauces, and the seeds, as well as the herbage, are essential in dill pickles. Grows 3 to 4 feet tall.
SOWING…Sow seed outdoors as soon as the danger of frost is past. Plant seed in rows 1 ½ to 2 feet apart spacing seed 1 inch apart in the row. Cover seed with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds begin to grow.
THINNING…When plants are 2 inches tall, thin to 6 to 8 inches apart in the row. Does not transplant well.
GERMINATION…Seed germinates in 10 to 15 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS…Separate seeds from heads by shaking loose in paper bag. Cut and use leaves either fresh or dried.
