Herb Cilantro

Herb Cilantro

Matures in 65 Days

This popular, easy-to-grow herb produces parsley-like leaves that are spicier than regular parsley and used to flavor fowl, meats, salsa and spicy dishes. The aromatic and flavorful seeds are used in potpourris and to flavor pastry, beans, stew, stuffing, sausage and fish.

SOWING…Plant seed outdoors in a sunny location after danger of frost is past. Plant in rows 15 inches apart, spacing seed 1 inch apart in row. Cover seed with ½ inch of fine soil, well pressed down.

THINNING…When plants are 1 to 2 inches tall, thin plants to 8 inches apart. Does not transplant well.

GERMINATION…Germinates in 15 to 20 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.

REMARKS…Protect from wind. Cut leaves sparingly when 4 to 6 inches high. Gather seeds as they ripen; they may be used whole or crushed. Succession plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest.
