Perennial herb famous because of the attraction cats have for the plant. The silver-green leaves and young shoots are also used as seasoning and a flavoring in tea. Attractive pale-pink or white flower-spikes attract birds and bees.
SOWING…Plant seed outdoors in a sunny or partial shade location. Seed should be sown ⅛ inch deep and covered with fine soil well pressed down.
THINNING…Thin to 18 inches apart when plants are 2 inches tall.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 14 to 18 days. Depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS…Catnip will grow without special attention. It is only necessary to keep down weeds in order to have them succeed for several years in the same location.
