Tender, crisp and sweet, with a pleasant spicy flavor. Used like lettuce in salads, cooked like spinach, shredded for slaw, steamed or stir-fried. Plants are 16 to 20 inches tall. Heads about 4 inches across at base. Thick green leaves blanch creamy white inside. Sure header, keeps well.
SOWING…Plant in spring as soon as ground can be worked, in rows 2 feet apart, spacing seeds 1 inch apart in the rows.
THINNING…When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin or transplant to 18 inches apart.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 5-10 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS…For continuous supply, plant every 2-3 weeks until weather gets hot, then again in late summer for fall crop.Share
