One of the finest Carrots grown, of excellent quality, attractive shape and bright orange all the way through. Nantes has a delicious flavor either raw, cooked or frozen. Roots grow 6-8 inches long, and are cylindrical and stump rooted.

SOWING…Sow seeds outdoors as early as the ground can be worked. Plant in rows 12-15 inches apart spacing seeds ½ inch apart in the row. Cover seed with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until plants grow.

THINNING…When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin to 2 to 3 inches apart.

GERMINATION…Carrot is very slow to germinate requiring up to 3 to 4 weeks, depending on soil and weather conditions.

REMARKS…Some gardeners like to soak the seed a few hours before planting to aid in germination. Make successive sowings up to mid July for full sized roots for winter storage. Plant Radish seeds in the row, they will mature and can be harvested before the Carrots get too large.
