Matures in 110 Days
Brussels Sprouts have a mild cabbage-like flavor but are more tender and tasty. The edible parts are numerous small heads that form on the stalk. A delicious vegetable for fall and winter use.
SOWING…Plant seed outdoors as soon as ground can be worked. For earlier crop start seed indoors 5-7 weeks before last frost and set out after last frost. Plant seed in rows 3 feet apart spacing seed 2 inches apart in row. Cover with ½ inch fine soil.
THINNING…When plants are 4 inches high, thin or transplant 2 feet apart in the row.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS…Water regularly and fertilize every 4-6 weeks. When the sprouts begin to form, remove the lower leaves to force all nourishment into the sprouts. The flavor is improved by first, so delay harvest of late crop until after first frost.
