Nasturtium Alaska
Nasturtium Alaska
Annual
Height 10 - 15 inches
Unusual green and white variegated mound-shaped foliage makes attractive background for edible blossoms that are yellow, orange, salmon and cherry.
SOWING…Plant seed outdoors after all danger of frost is past where plants are to remain. Plant in rows 6 inches apart and cover over seed with ½ inch of fine soil, well pressed down.
THINNING…When plants are 2 to 3 inches high, thin to about 6 inches apart in the row or bed.
GERMINATION…Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS…Easily grown in any soil and blooms profusely for a long period. Nasturtiums require little water and no fertilizer as enriched soil tends to produce more foliage than flowers. Flowers smell sweet but have a peppery bite.
