Height 5 to 6 feet

Hollyhock is an old-fashioned favorite in most gardens. The tall spikes are covered with blooms from top to bottom. Showy in beds or borders, along fences, and in meadow settings, they make excellent cut flowers as well. Flower colors of yellow, white, pink, and rose.

SOWING…Sow seed in a sunny location outdoors in spring as soon as the ground has warmed. Plant seed onto the surface of the soil and compress, but do not cover as the seeds need sunlight to germinate.

THINNING…When plants are 2 to 3 inches high, thin or transplant 10 to 12 inches apart.

GERMINATION…Germinates in 14 to 21 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

REMARKS…Hollyhocks are easy to grow and fairly drought tolerant. Water from below to prevent rust disease. Blooms all summer long. Provide support if plants will be exposed to strong winds.
