Ponytail Palm - 6"
Ponytail Palm - 6"
Container Size: 6"
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may grow more slowly. Avoid direct sunlight, especially intense afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 65-75°F. It can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be protected from frost.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Drought-tolerant and prefer to be slightly underwatered than overwatered. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain away. Reduce watering in winter when growth slows down.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent mix, to prevent waterlogging and root rot.
Humidity: Can tolerate normal household humidity levels, but they appreciate occasional misting, especially in dry indoor environments.
Fertilization: Feed every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength. Avoid fertilizing in fall and winter.
Pruning: Trim any dead or yellowing leaves as needed. Typically do not require extensive pruning.
Propagation: Can be propagated from offsets, which are small plantlets that grow at the base of the main stem. Carefully remove the offset and plant it in a separate pot with well-draining soil.
Toxicity: Non-toxic to pets and humans.
