Perennials for Dry Soil

With the increasing occurrence of water shortage in many regions, perennials that will tolerate dry, sunny conditions are at a premium.  Fortunately, a number of plants can survive without rain or watering for long periods.  Many of these have long taproots, but densely hairy or waxy leaf-surfaces also help to reduce water loss.
